Director, Denise Muir Kjesbo: Dr. Denise Muir Kjesbo serves as Professor and Lead Faculty of Children’s and Family Ministry at Bethel Seminary. She is an author of numerous articles, has co-authored a book with Dr. Stanley J. Grenz, and is a national workshop presenter and conference speaker. Denise and her husband launched a new church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Denise enjoys walks with their golden retriever, Rudy, gardening and connecting with people.
Associate Director, Barb Cionca: Barb has served as a Children’s Pastor in the local church for 18 years and has served in numerous leadership roles in children’s ministry. She earned a BS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Arizona State University and an M.Ed degree in Early Childhood Education from Temple University in Philadelphia. Barb and her husband John live in Arden Hills, Minnesota and enjoy hiking, reading, gardening, sunrises and children.
Associate Director of U.S. Initiatives, Deb Moncauskas: Dr. Deb Moncauskas lives in San Diego, where she has served her congregation for 30 years as the Children and Family Pastor. She is an adjunct professor at Bethel Seminary, teaching since 2004 in the MACFM program, from which she was also a graduate and member of the first cohort. Her areas of focus are leadership and staff development, generational distinctives and ministry administration. She has been certified by Gallup as a Strengths coach, coaching close to 200 men, women and youth to live and lead from their strengths. She earned her doctorate in 2012. Her dissertation focused on strengths-based leadership development for pre-teens.
Associate Director of Global Initiatives, Anne-Marie Finsaas: Anne-Marie was born in Australia, grew up in Thailand, Nepal and Indonesia and immigrated to the United States to marry the Minnesotan missionary she had met overseas. She has served as a children’s and family ministry pastor, taught as an adjunct professor, and now serves as the pastor of formational life at Church of the Open Door. She is a graduate of Bethel’s first CFM cohort and recently completed her DMin in Leadership and Spiritual Formation.
Associate Director of Digital Initiatives, Matt Guevara: A veteran children’s and family ministry leader and author of 11 Ways to Share the Gospel with Digital Natives, Matt Guevara has held a life-long curiosity for how kids learn and how the church can best serve families. Matt currently serves as the Executive Director of INCM and leads a family with three amazing kids.
Operations Manager, Jesse Smith: Jesse is a veteran children & family pastor and has participated in a number of cooperative publishing initiatives such as the Advent book and What Matters Now in Children’s Ministry Early Childhood Edition. Jesse,a graduate of Cohort K from Bethel Seminary’s CFM program, and his wife, Teri, have been married for over 20 years and are raising two growing sons. Together, they are helping to build stronger families by reminding them of the importance of play.
